22-7-23: Another amazing trip to Dubai. Dubai never fails to impress, will be uploading my experiences and pictures this week. With its incredible modern infrastructure, sparkling clean metro, hotels and resorts suitable for all budgets (its a complete myth to think Dubai is expensive for all), helpful, friendly people, its one of the nicest cities in the Emirates (GCC) I visit. Walking around the Jumeira area, seeing the villas, super cars and high-end shops and neighbourhood was an increadible experience, seeing how the other half live. It's also easy to find an apartment with a fantastic view, zero crime, access to the world's biggest malls and facilities to suit all budgets, safe driving and gorgeous beaches and plenty of places ot eat and drink - from fish and chips on the QE2 to up market restaurants like Jamie Oliver in Dubai Mall and all the usual fast food brands, its hard not see see how some of the malls and streets dont resemble a UK High Street 10 years ago - Debenhams, Boots, River Island, etc, are all still going strong here - just a shame our High Street back home is going backwards, losing all these familiar brands to other countries, its very sad to see this happenning in my lifetime. The Future museum was increadible, especially the trip into space and back - this is an awesome country with great ambition and vision on how we will be living in the future. Blown away by how modern it has become and clean, from the floor of the metro trains and stations (mini works of art), every corner has a wow factor! Visit the old Dubai area on the creek, carefully restored and open, full of museums of how life used to be life and how Dubai developed, in such a short time, from a pearling East/West port to the modern metropolis it is today, the future is only limited by our imagination!
